Music is key sometimes. Problem with me is that I don’t find myself motivated by the same old songs time and again. After a while I lose interest in all but my absolute favorites. I’m a new music addict.

Hey Michael,
Thanks for the comment.
I’m completely the same. Most songs get boring after a while. I have maybe 5-10 songs that never seem to get boring. And most of those are on this list.
how do i get this all on one cd for my employees
House of Pain- Jump Around
Hummm. I suddenly feel like jumping.
Thanks for the suggestion, David.
Savage Garden?? Celine Dion?
going to have to shoot you Jamie, otherwise, I own most of the songs in that list, have tried to copy your little set list there, good job!
But yeah. I think I deserve to be shot.
Good to hear from ya mate! How ya doing?
Thank you for “The Prayer”. This one is my favorite. Reminds me to my wedding
…
Glad the list is keeping you entertained, Susan.
Yay for song lists! I love compiling song lists as well. It’s one of my nerdy habits. My fave song on your list is The Prayer by Anderea & Celine. I think I actually listen to it a dozen times a day. It’s just that when they sing “let this be your prayer, just like every child” my heart swells. Every. Single. Time.
Let the sentiment and nostalgia begin.
It’s amazing how music can affect the psyche like it does. Sports teams use it to amp up their players and fans, dentists use it to calm the nerves, etc.
Your list isn’t necessarily “my” type of music, but that’s the beauty of it. We are all affected in different ways by the same songs.
B. Durant’s last blog post..Vigilante injustice is alive and “well” in these here United States
My fav, especially if I’m working in the server room alone or when I am at my desk working alone is “The Chase” by Giorgio Moroder. Nothing gets my pulse pumping like this tune.

Hey Christine,

I can’t say I’ve ever listened to those songs (at least, I don’t think I have).
I’ll have a listen today though. Thanks!

In the name of love - U2
Thank you soooo very much for this list! I was feeling so low, googled and came here to find this list, and kept on adding the songs (most of them I have already, and just 30 minutes into my “private” listening, Im feeling good….
May G-d bless you!
Maybe try Sleeping Lessons by The Shins. It always helps me to stay motivated as well as to be myself.
I have a few songs that I’d like to recommend - I’m a motivational music junkie!
1. This is a brand new song that will be overplayed soon (hate when the radio stations do that), so enjoy it now! “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus (I’m 30 yrs old, and haven’t been a fan of hers, until now, I was actually a little embarrassed that I like a song by a teenie bopper, haha!)
2. “Anyways” by Martina McBride
3. “Another Place To Fall” by KT Tunstall
well there goes my day!!! lol
No list is complete without Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits!!
Right Now and Dreams by Van Halen

*haha i had to weed out the “break-up” workout songs.
i have LOTS.
Sorry, but I find this list too poppy. While I respect everyone’s choice of music, for me a motivating song has to rock it out or have a decent pace to it.
Some you might want to have a gander at:
*P Diddy - Victory
*Prodigy - Get up get off (or spitfire’s a great tune too)
*Tupac - Changes
*Libertines - Don’t Look Back into the Sun
*The Killers - Bling (Confession of a King)
Although I’d agree with *Eminem - Lose Yourself
*Bon Jovi - It’s My Life
Which are both terrific songs
Personally, while Pop can be melodic and better known many songs lack a decent tempo or a raw edge that heavy metal/rock and rap can.
This song doesn’t actually have lyrics but to me it seems motivational
Life in Technicolor - Coldplay
Some people will probably disagree with me but it sort of sounds like as you go throughout the song it progesses more–makes me want to progress more as I go through life :).
All these songs are excellent, but I absolutely have to add “ain’t no stoppin sunshine” by Yoli. Fantastic song, hard to find though…just for the record its on the Deliver Us From Eva soundtrack.
oh…and “Hold Your Head Up” by Argent
Shakira - Whenever Wherever.
