I have an office! Yes, a proper office in the nearby city of Leeds with boardrooms, open plan meeting space and a Big Brother style diary room for video blogging. It’s a coworking office, which means I get a “pod” in a communal office with other bloggers and Web developers and then I share all the meeting rooms with everybody else.
With the new office comes a lot of new gadgets, including dual boot, dual 32″ HD Apple monitors and Mac Pro’s in the pods. I’ve also been given the luxury of borrowing, free of charge, a Macbook Pro. I’ll be borrowing it for two weeks, with the option of paying a monthly fee thereafter. So with the Macbook Pro in hand, I decided to do a video blog.
So without further ado, here is a trip around my home office. This is where I’ve been working for the past three years. I’ll hopefully be doing a tour of my new office in Leeds when I go there again next week. Enjoy the video!

Hi Jamie, I like your blog. I have to say though your home office doesn’t look that inviting.. not enough natural light, & using some old equipment. The money I saved on commuting and expensive lunches allowed me to live in a nicer apartment.
I have a nice view, a sundeck, indoor plants, and I also use a laptop with wireless internet, so I can go and work in the park for a while if the need arises. I’ve been working from home for around 8 months and I love it. The first few months were the worst - I worked longer hours until I disciplined myself to “clock in” and out. I talk to people on the phone all day too, so that definitely eases the loneliness factor.
Hey Darren,
Thanks for the excellent comment.
You’re so right. My home office isn’t very inviting. That’s why I moved in to the coworking space.
Your setup sounds lovely. How about a video blog?
I’m glad working from home is working well for you!
