It’s been an awesome week in the blogosphere. It’s got me so excited and inspired that I just can’t wait for the week ahead. But before then, let’s take a moment to look back with a list of my favourite links from the past week.
Understanding the Blog Lifecycle To Prevent Common Downfalls
Jeff from BuzzMyBlog.com wrote this fantastic guest post at ProBlogger earlier today. Jeff uses a very intuitive graph to show the general increase and decrease in traffic and blogger mentality over the lifetime of a blog. It was refreshing to read a post from somebody telling it how it really is, rather than simply writing what everybody wants to hear.
Success Is Relative (Especially When Relatives Determine Your Success)
The Office Newb, Jacqui Tom, discusses the effect that the constant pressure to get good grades has on the students of today, and questions whether our parents choices to force children in to as many areas of expertise as possible rather than letting children do the things they enjoy is a factor in the increase in exam cheating that we are seeing in today’s world of education.
Business Goal Setting and the Exercise Bike
John Cow compares the dedication and hard work of blogging to the dedication and hard work needed to continue using an exercise bike. He discusses the importance of setting goals and the importance of not jumping straight in to new ideas. As I said in my comment, “You must also define a path to reach your goals. You wouldn’t set yourself a goal of running a marathon without defining the route you needed to run to lead you to that goal.”
Although it’s been an enjoyable week for me in the blogosphere, I can’t honestly say I’ve seen too many articles that stand out and grab my attention. I’d rather give you quality over quantity in these weekly lists, so this week these three links are the only ones I’m going to include.
Enjoy!
