Meet me at BarCamp Leeds

14 July, 2008 - Misc - 4 Comments

I just registered my attendance for BarCamp Leeds on 16th and 17th August.

It’s nine months since the last (and first) BarCamp was held in Leeds and they’re now looking to host a second event, building on the huge success of the first.

As well as some no doubt fantastic presentations (potentially one from me), there will be plenty of Wii gaming, beer drinking, pizza eating, and associate networking. And all for free.

They’re even hoping to have a 24 hour code-a-thon… that is, designing and developing a new Web site for a charity in Yorkshire in just 24 hours, created by those who attend the BarCamp.

The event is being held at Old Broadcasting House, Leeds. This is the building where I had my co-working space last month and is an absolutely lovely, modern, innovative and inspiring place to work and play.

If you’re anywhere close (or not. Many attendees came from the London area last year), I would love to meet you there.

Full details can be found at http://barcampleeds.com/.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Hi Jamie - it sounds like fun but I’ll still be on my holidays then, so I can’t come. Have a great time.

Hey Cath,

That’s a shame, but I guess a holiday is a fantastic excuse. :)

Where ya going?
