QCQ - Check Your Blog For Broken Links?

24 January, 2008 - Blogging, Quick Questions - 11 Comments

Quick Community QuestionsI’ve been searching. Searching for a WordPress plugin. Searching for a WordPress plugin that is used on many blogs, but seems to be elusive to my eyes. It’s the “Related Posts” plugin, for those wondering.

I’ve spent the evening working on my new blog design so I’ve been looking for the plugin ready for use when I launch.

Broken Links

Almost every site I found that discussed the plugin had download links to pages that no longer existed. It’s terribly frustrating, to say the least.

Quick Community Question - Do You Read Sponsored Posts?

16 January, 2008 - Blogging, Quick Questions - 7 Comments

Quick Community QuestionsIf you’re not familiar with the Quick Community Question series, please take a look at the launch post.

For this quick community question, I want to focus on sponsored posts. Usually these come in the form of sponsored Web site reviews.

Question: - When you’re subscribed to a blog and a new post appears in your feed reader, what do you do when you realise it is a sponsored post? Do you read it like any other post? Do you delete it from your reader without reading it?

QCQ - Quick Community Questions

30 December, 2007 - Quick Questions - 9 Comments

Quick Community QuestionsSo many questions, so few words. That’s the basis of my new post series, called Quick Community Questions, or QCQ for short.

The idea is to ask you, my humble, dedicated, passionate readers, a quick question that will hopefully prompt answers and discussion in the comments.

For this first question, I want to focus on what you do when you subscribe to a new feed.

Question: - When you subscribe to a new RSS feed, do you ever read the archived posts that are displayed in your reader?
