Earlier, I said Chris Garrett and I were attempting to organise a regular get together of bloggers in the north. Well, I’m now pleased to announce the details of the first meetup.
When? - 6:30pm to 9pm, Friday 15th August. This is what time we have the room. I’m sure some will head to a bar afterwards.
Where? - Old Broadcasting House (OBH), 148 Woodhouse Lane, Leeds, LS2 9EN. You can find a map at http://www.oldbroadcastinghouse.com/contact
What is it? - This initial get together is very much a meet and greet and will be geared towards figuring out where we want to take the future events. We have people from as far afield as London and Wales who are interested in attending larger (full day or longer) events. But with that said, we also want to set a direction at this event for future events… so… I’m pleased to say that I’ll be doing a short presentation. Talking of which…
Presentations - I’ll be doing a presentation titled “Stalking Your Visitors for the Good of Your Blog” (It’s not quite as crazy as it sounds). I’m hoping to have a few “goodies” to hand out too. I anticipate my presentation will last no more than 10 minutes. I’m confident most of you will find it quite exciting… but I’m not telling you any more than that. If anybody else wants to do a quick presentation or show and tell, please contact Chris or myself in advance. If you want a rule for length, I would try to stick as close to a 20/20 presentation format (20 slides. 20 seconds per slide). 10-15 minutes would probably work as a maximum. OBH have all the presentation equipment (just bring your laptop, your presentation, and your cables). Any topic relating to blogging will be fantastic.
What should I bring? - I’ll be taking my laptop with me, and I’m hoping others do too as it will make my presentation much more exciting. (My presentation will make carrying your laptop around well worthwhile… I hope!) OBH has wi-fi available for free. If you have business cards for your blog, bring them too. I want to go away with lots of new URL’s in my head. Please also bring your cameras (still and video).
Parking? - Parking is available at a multi-storey car park a five minute walk from OBH. The car park closes at 9pm. There is also free parking after 5pm in the university across the road from Old Broadcasting House.
Public Transport - Old Broadcasting House is a 15 minute walk from the station, or a short taxi journey. Walking directions from the train station to OBH.
More info? - If you’re interested in attending this get together or future blogger get togethers in the north, head over to the Wiki and sign up to the mailing list.

This gave me a fantastic idea, I would organize a blogger’s group also in our area. It would be great to learn from other bloggers and to meet the person behind the great blogs we read.
I would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to see http://www.TheYESmovie.com, It’s an inspiring documentary any entrepreneur would learn from.
Hey Lyre,
