Girl? Geek? In the North of England? Then Leeds’ first ever Girl Geek Dinner may be of interest to you.
Organised by my co-working friend and head of NTI Leeds, Linda Broughton, and Girly Geekdom’s Maz Hardey, Girl Geek Dinner is for the girls, by the girls, all talking girly geek stuff. (Usually the same stuff us male geeks talk about…).
The event is being hosted at ‘the study’ at The Living Room, (7 Greek Street, Leeds, LS1 5RW), approximately five minutes walk from Leeds City Station, from 6-9pm on 13th August 2008.
The event has a couple speakers lined up:
Lydia Machell; a freelance music software developer with a background in arts and inventor of the Prima Vista Braille Music System
And Lorna Mitchell; a developer, consultant and trainer for ibuildings in Leeds. Lorna’s a PHP specialist, with a particular interest in databases and Subversion and background in Electronic engineering.
Head on over to the Girl Geek Dinner Leeds Web site for more information and registration.
