Quick Tip: Subscribe via Email to your own Blog!

30 November, 2007 - Quick Tips - 2 Comments

Yesterday, Darren at ProBlogger published two reasons to subscribe to your own RSS feeds.

I fully agree with Darren’s advice that you should subscribe to your own feed, but I want to add that you should also subscribe to your feed via email.

Your posts often appear in a different format for email subscribers, so you need to make sure your posts are accommodating those subscribers just as well as you’re accommodating the more traditional RSS reader.

Look after all your readers by subscribing to your own feed via email, as well as in a traditional RSS reader.

This post is a part of my quick tips series. A set of short posts aimed at doing exactly what they say on the tin!

Hi Jamie, I already do this and I agree it’s a good idea. I have worked in both software development and software testing, so I do things like this to ensure my sites are tested thoroughly. And because I use my own software, I can find and address issues pretty quickly!

I’m a huge fan of testing everything too, Ben. Maybe I’m a perfectionist, but it just makes sense to me. :)
