It seems my analysis of StumbleUpon traffic was a real hit for a lot of people. For the last 12 hours, my blog has been inundated with traffic. Here is a timeline of notable events and traffic over the last three days:
The Timeline
Saturday, Nov 3, 5:03pm - One of my readers, Frank Carr, submitted my article “Finding the Perfect Prospect Ice Breaker” to StumbleUpon.
Sunday, Nov 4, 1pm - Almost 24 hours after Frank submitted the article to StumbleUpon, the first visitors were being referred. Over two hours, 101 visitors came to my article from SU.
Monday, Nov 5, 3:30pm - After noticing some interesting trends with the SU traffic while monitoring my Live WordPress plugin, I did an extensive analysis of the SU traffic and then posted it all in a blog post.
Monday, Nov 5, 5pm - I submitted my StumbleUpon analysis to Blogging Zoom. The article soon hit the front page and appeared in the top articles list. I received a rather tame 20 visitors from this source, but the traffic was of good quality, producing several comments and emails.
Tuesday, Nov 6, 1:30am - I was laid in bed, albeit still surfing, when Frank decided to submit my StumbleUpon analysis to Stumble.
Tuesday Nov 6, 3:00am - The first visitors from the new SU submission start coming in to the blog. This traffic has lasted most of today, with the best hour being between 4am-5am when over 224 visitors came to the site from Stumble. The Stumble has brought in 588 visitors so far today, with more still flooding in. The traffic has created 24 comments on the StumbleUpon analysis post, equalling the most comments received on a post on my blog.
Tuesday Nov 6, 8am - Kevin at BloggingTips includes my analysis in his weekly links roundup.
Tuesday Nov 6, 7pm - Digg member Jamflux submits my analysis to Digg and Reddit. I’ve added a “Digg This” button to the post. If you did find the article interesting, please do view the Digg submission and add your vote.
So far today, the blog has received 726 visitors and 1,216 page views. That’s more visitors in one day than I received in the whole of October.
Thanks to all who have commented, emailed me, linked back to my site and submitted my articles to social networking Web sites. A special thanks must go to Frank. If it wasn’t for him making that initial StumbleUpon submission, none of this would have happened.
It’s been a fun three days but it isn’t over yet. I have some interesting posts to make over the next few days and I’ll also be setting out my November goals for this blog, which will include information on what you can expect and look forward to over the coming month. I can’t wait to show you all my plans.

Timeline of StumbleUpon Traffic - 800% Traffic Increase…
After receiving nearly 700 visitors from StumbleUpon, mainly due to my comprehensive analysis of the quality of StumbleUpon traffic, I decided to write a time line of the events that have occurred over this week that have led to me receiving more visit…
This post is great Jamie! People will always eat it up when you document your successes like this.
Hey Court,
Thanks for commenting and thanks for the compliment.
I’ve been seeing your name floating all over the blogosphere lately. I guess it’s time I subscribed to your blog… so done.
Glad to have helped. Your great follow-up analysis really made it snowball.
I’m making an effort to stumble and zoom any good posts I run across while surfing around. Too many good articles go unread because of lack of traffic and I’m trying to do my part to get them exposure.
Well… you’re doing a great job.
Thanks Frank!
Congratulations I had read your articles too. Produce a quality contents automatically will gives you a free traffic here
Thanks Vickie.
Well done Jamie!
From what you’ve said your traffic is huge compared to what it was so I imagine you are on cloud 9. I remember how happy I was the first time mine doubled in a day - never mind doing what yours has done.
Kudos
Griz
I’m almost over the cloud 9 stage, although my head is still too big to fit through a door.
The main thing this surge in traffic has done is inspire me and give me a huge boost of energy. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the month has to offer.
Thanks for the comment, Griz.
